Job Description
HUNINGTON PROPERTIES, INC., is a full-service commercial real estate firm based in Houston. We are seeking an Accounting Assistant.
PRIMARY RESPOSIBILITIES
Assist Accounting Manager with weekly and monthly tasks.
Assist accounts payable in processing vendor invoices.
Assist in overseeing the accounting staff that is outsourced.
Post tenant payments received via email & ACH into accounting system.
Process weekly check runs to vendors.
Maintain mortgage payment checklist to ensure all mortgage payments are posted into the accounting system.
Communicate with Property Managers concerning property related issues.
Works regularly with transactional detail to resolve discrepancies and make corrections.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive data and issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years of experience in Commercial and/or Retail real estate accounting
Experience working in a high paced environment with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at one time
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently on assigned duties
Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, basic computer skills
Experience with Yardi Voyager software, a plus
Basic knowledge of accounting principles
Associates degree or Bachelors degree in accounting, a plus
